Maverick Games partners with Focus Entertainment to publish debut racing title Clutch
Focus Entertainment has announced a major publishing partnership with independent racing studio Maverick Games for its upcoming debut title, Clutch, an open-world racing game. The partnership marks Focus Entertainment’s first venture into the open-world racing genre.
Maverick Games originally partnered with Amazon Game Studios in 2024 to publish the then-unannounced title. However, Amazon ended the agreement earlier this year, stating it wanted to “focus on projects that leverage Amazon’s unique strengths and scale.” The studio subsequently entered active dialogue with potential publishing partners before securing the Focus Entertainment deal.
Focus Entertainment’s deputy CEO Vincent Chataignier expressed confidence in the partnership, praising Maverick Games and creative director Mike Brown as “one of the defining creative voices in the racing genre,” highlighting the studio’s ambition as aligned with Focus Entertainment’s publishing strategy.
Clutch is scheduled for release in Spring 2027. The partnership represents a significant commitment from Focus Entertainment to establish itself in the competitive open-world racing market through collaboration with established creative talent in the genre.
