Gravhounds Reveal Trailer Sends Good Boys Into A Sci-Fi Battle

Gravhounds, the debut title from indie developer Octopus Panic, was revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The action-builder game is set in a sci-fi future where interstellar exploration and colonization are handled by bioengineered dogs called Gravhounds. These humanoid-appearing creatures have been genetically engineered for space exploration and operate on a hostile alien world devoid of human presence.

The game features cooperative gameplay for 1-4 players and is built around physics-driven chaos mechanics. Players control the bioengineered canine characters as they work to build resources, survive, and extract themselves using the game’s survival and extraction systems. The gameplay draws inspiration from Battlefield and Halo, which is fitting given that Octopus Panic was founded by veteran developers from DICE and 343 Industries—the studios behind those acclaimed franchises.

Gravhounds is set to enter Early Access on November 2, 2026, launching simultaneously on PC and Xbox. The reveal marks the studio’s official debut release, introducing a unique blend of cooperative action, resource management, and survival mechanics with a distinctive sci-fi premise centered on canine protagonists exploring alien worlds.
