Yes, the leaks were true - a Lego version of Cities Skylines is on its way to PC and consoles

Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios have announced LEGO Skylines, a new city-building spin-off of the Cities: Skylines series, unveiled at Gamescom 2026. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

LEGO Skylines offers a “playful take” on city building that emphasizes creativity and imagination. Players start by building and customizing a single house on a plot of land, then expand to neighborhoods and eventually entire cities. The gameplay incorporates familiar city-building mechanics from the original series: managing resources like electricity, food, and water distribution while constructing parks, museums, sports facilities, and other amenities to keep citizens satisfied. The game encourages creative solutions—the developers highlighted the possibility of building a bakery on every city corner, demonstrating the blend of functional city management with whimsical design choices.

Developed by Iceflake Studios, the game features a tagline of “no instructions, unlimited space,” reflecting its approach of letting player imagination drive the experience. The announcement confirms recent leaks about the project that surfaced earlier in the summer.

This announcement comes as Iceflake Studios continues its work on improving Cities: Skylines 2. Original developer Colossal Order handed over development of that title to Iceflake following the game’s troubled 2023 launch, which was plagued by performance issues and questions about whether it was a worthy sequel. Iceflake has since made significant strides in revitalizing the game.
