Nvidia announces ray-traced Nanite, native anti-cheat, and DLSS 4.5 at Gamescom 2026
Nvidia has released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, a new graphics feature available immediately for all GeForce RTX GPUs via the Nvidia app. The technology addresses a persistent challenge in ray-traced gaming: visual artifacts and trailing effects that appear during camera movement or when objects move across the screen.
The feature uses a second-generation transformer model to unify denoising and super resolution into a single AI-powered process. While ray-traced lighting produces accurate shadows and illumination, the denoising required to render these effects from limited ray samples has historically created visual artifacts in motion. DLSS 4.5 aims to resolve this through deeper spatial awareness and improved algorithms, delivering clearer imagery even during dynamic scenes.
The update supports 30 titles at launch, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Developers can add the feature to their games via official patches and have access to additional controls for improved lighting accuracy and shadow rendering precision.
The announcement came during Gamescom 2026 as part of broader developer-facing updates to Nvidia’s DLSS, RTX, and GeForce Now platforms.
