New PUBG Game Ded Net Looks Nothing Like PUBG

Krafton announced PUBG: Ded Net, a new multiplayer first-person shooter spin-off, at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event. Set in the fictional 1990s setting of Cascadia, the game combines traditional shooter mechanics with roguelite progression systems, allowing players to carry progression and upgrades across multiple runs rather than resetting after each session. The game’s central premise, “death is only the beginning,” suggests that respawning and resurrection mechanics are core gameplay elements in this chaotic multiplayer experience.

The announcement trailer features Ministry’s industrial track “Jesus Built My Hotrod,” establishing an immersive grunge and ’90s aesthetic that complements the unpredictable nature of the roguelite gameplay. Krafton is currently accepting registrations for a closed beta test on the game’s official website, allowing interested players to experience the early build.

This release fits within Krafton’s broader strategy to develop PUBG as a multi-title universe spanning various genres and gameplay styles beyond the core battle royale experience. The publisher has previously experimented with genre expansions and spin-offs as part of its vision to establish an interconnected PUBG ecosystem, marking a significant creative departure for the franchise.
