Total War: Warhammer shows off its spicy new endgames, including a ‘rat counter’ that tells you how many Skaven still need killing in The Vermintide
Creative Assembly has revealed new endgame crisis scenarios for Total War: Warhammer III’s upcoming “Lords of the End Times” expansion. The update introduces three major endgame crises: Archaon’s Chaos Invasion, Nagash’s Great Ritual of Nagash, and the Skaven’s Vermintide. The Vermintide crisis features a particularly notable “rat counter” mechanic that tracks the total number of Skaven units remaining to be eliminated, adding a quantifiable objective to the endgame scenario. A recent livestream by Creative Assembly showcased detailed gameplay of these crises and how they devastate different regions of the game world with specially designed devastated battle maps. The expansion also delivers Neferata as a free-to-play lord character and includes a significant rework of the Vampire Counts faction. These updates continue Creative Assembly’s ongoing commitment to substantial content additions for Total War: Warhammer III, building on the studio’s track record of providing meaningful expansions for the game.
