Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement Delayed to 2027

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, the upcoming entry in the Bloodstained franchise, has been delayed to 2027, according to an announcement from director Koji Igarashi. The delay announcement comes as a disappointment to fans eagerly awaiting the sequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which launched in June 2019.

ArtPlay, the developer behind the project, confirmed that despite the delay, the game has entered the final stages of development. The studio published new screenshots alongside the announcement to provide fans with a look at the game’s current progress.

The Bloodstained franchise was created to fulfill demand from players seeking games in the style of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the iconic title that inspired a devoted fanbase. Koji Igarashi, who serves as director on The Scarlet Engagement, has personal ties to that legacy—he served as assistant director on the original Symphony of the Night, bringing his expertise and vision to the Bloodstained series.

While the 2027 release window may test fans’ patience, ArtPlay’s commitment to showcasing development progress suggests the studio is working to keep the community informed throughout the extended development cycle.
