Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Is Out This October With A Very Special Guest

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 will release on October 14, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving shortly thereafter. The sequel to the ’90s-inspired boomer shooter has garnered significant anticipation within the Warhammer franchise community.

In an exciting announcement, legendary video game composer Mick Gordon—known for his work on Doom and Wolfenstein—has contributed an original track to the game. Gordon’s composition will serve as a “cameo” appearance and will accompany the final boss fight against Vashtorr the Arkifane, the game’s chief antagonist described as a “daemonic demigod of inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans.”

The new track premiered in an official release-date trailer, which also provided the first gameplay footage of the game’s final confrontation. The collaboration marks a notable moment for the franchise, bringing together composer Gordon’s acclaimed video game music legacy with Warhammer 40,000’s distinctive aesthetic. Developed by Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games, Boltgun 2 continues the series’ dedication to recreating the brutal, fast-paced gunplay style characteristic of classic first-person shooters from the 1990s.
