Ubisoft debuts Player Council platform to expand early game development feedback

Ubisoft has launched The Player Council, a new platform designed to give players direct input on games during early development stages. Announced at Gamescom 2026, the platform is currently undergoing a soft launch with invitation-based access for interested players.

Through The Player Council, participants can test early concepts, prototypes, and live game experiences before they reach the public. The platform serves as a two-way communication channel, enabling direct dialogue between players and developers. This approach aims to integrate player feedback into the development process from earlier stages than traditionally available.

The Player Council is supported by Ubisoft Connect and the Games2Gether community platform. The soft launch includes four projects spanning both early-stage development and existing titles. Two early prototypes are featured: Codename Split Point, an online multiplayer experience, and Codename Rook, a single-player strategy game. Two live games are also included in the initial rollout: Riders Republic and Atomega, with Atomega notably set to receive its first major update in nine years.

By democratizing game development feedback and bringing players into the creation process at earlier stages, Ubisoft hopes to create games that better align with player expectations and preferences. The initiative reflects broader industry trends toward community-driven development and extended early access opportunities.
