The Most Expensive Xbox Ever Now Includes Another Special Perk

Microsoft has announced the launch of a limited-edition Xbox Series X console celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary. The special edition features a translucent green design inspired by the original Xbox and is individually numbered, with each unit laser-etched for uniqueness.

Priced at $899.99—$100 more than the standard Xbox Series X—the 25th Anniversary Edition console will launch on November 13, 2026. Pre-orders begin on August 27 at 7 AM PDT (10 AM EDT), with select Xbox fans receiving early access via email the same day.

The bundle includes a matching translucent green Xbox controller and a full-game download code for Halo: Campaign Evolved, which released earlier in the summer. Microsoft is also selling the anniversary controller separately for $79.99 for those who want the special edition design without purchasing the console.

The premium price point reflects the limited availability and commemorative nature of the release, targeting longtime Xbox enthusiasts with significant collector interest. The announcement was made during Gamescom 2026, a major gaming industry event.
