Nintendo Download: 27th August (North America)
Nintendo’s weekly eShop update for North America features Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s open beta as a major release. The beta runs from August 28 at 10 a.m. PT through September 1 at 10 a.m. PT, providing all Nintendo Switch 2 owners free access to test the shooter ahead of its October 23 full release. Players can explore new game content and features during the weekend beta window.
The Nintendo Download roundup, reported by Nintendo Life, also highlights additional games launching this week including Metal Gear Solid, Elden Ring, and Orbitals. The variety of titles reflects a diverse selection of genres and experiences arriving on Switch 2 during this period.
The availability of a major Call of Duty open beta on Switch 2 demonstrates significant third-party publisher confidence in Nintendo’s newest console. The two-month gap between the beta and official launch allows players to provide feedback while building anticipation for the October release. This kind of AAA support continues to establish Switch 2 as a viable platform for major multiplayer franchises alongside Nintendo’s own first-party offerings.
