The massive GTA 6 leaks might be done for good as Cyberleek cashes out nearly £200,000 from their crypto scheme

The person or group known as CyberLeek, responsible for leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos that circulated in recent weeks, has reportedly cashed out of a cryptocurrency scheme that generated approximately $270,000 (£200,000).

The leaker had embedded promotion of a meme coin called $CYBERLEEK in every leaked video, creating a platform where fans could purchase and trade the token to vote on which future GTA 6 content would be disclosed. CyberLeek initially claimed the leaks were a protest against the death of physical media, but crypto analysts revealed the operation was fundamentally a financial scheme from its inception.

Crypto analyst Vice Cit documented evidence of overnight cryptocurrency transactions indicating CyberLeek had “cashed out” from the scheme. The community has characterized this as a classic “rug pull”—a common cryptocurrency scam where the creator withdraws accumulated funds and abandons the project.

The leaks occurred just hours before Rockstar Games officially revealed GTA 6 gameplay on its own terms, undermining the publisher’s planned announcement. However, the leaker’s primary motivation appeared financial rather than rooted in consumer advocacy, given the aggressive promotion of the meme coin woven throughout every leaked video.

The incident highlights ongoing security challenges major publishers face with unreleased content, while also exemplifying the intersection of gaming communities, cryptocurrency speculation, and social engineering tactics used to drive adoption of volatile digital assets.
