The Esports World Cup 2026’s Most Watched Tournaments

The Esports World Cup 2026 concluded with strong viewership across its 20+ tournaments. Mobile Legends Bang Bang maintained its position as the most-watched event with 45.27 million hours watched, while Counter-Strike 2 saw significant growth, recording 27.92 million hours watched—a 93.7% year-on-year increase from the previous year’s 14.4 million hours.

In a surprising result, AG.AL claimed the $7 million EWC Club Championship, defeating Team Falcons in the grand final.

The growth in viewership came with expanded scope for some tournaments. The Counter-Strike 2 event doubled in scale from 16 to 32 teams, contributing to both the increased hours watched and the tournament’s extended duration.

For esports organizations, the EWC Club Championship carries significant strategic importance, as success directly impacts funding and investment decisions. NAVI experienced this dynamic firsthand: while the organization’s overall performance at EWC was strong across multiple rosters, their Counter-Strike 2 roster notably failed to earn any championship points. However, the success of NAVI’s other competitive teams positions the organization to potentially invest additional resources into strengthening their CS2 roster following disappointing recent results against teams like Legacy and M80.

The tournament highlights the growing importance of competitive esports, with viewership and organizational stakes continuing to rise across multiple titles.
