Fable Gets Another 30 Minutes Of Raw Gameplay Footage In New Combat Video
Playground Games showcased extensive new gameplay footage for the upcoming Fable reboot at Gamescom 2026. Xbox released an 18-minute gameplay demonstration featuring the city of Bowerstone, questing mechanics, combat sequences, and life-simulation elements including NPC interactions, family-building, and home ownership systems. The demo also highlighted dialogue choice mechanics that shape player interactions.
Following the initial showcase, an extended 30-minute gameplay video focusing specifically on combat was released on YouTube through GameRiot, providing a deeper dive into the game’s combat systems without commentary. The footage demonstrates the level of detail Playground Games has implemented in combat mechanics, with raw gameplay footage requiring no additional explanation or voiceover.
The game is scheduled for release in 2027 and will be available day-one on Xbox Game Pass. It will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to access the game across Xbox and Windows platforms. The reboot aims to deliver a comprehensive reimagining of the original Fable series while maintaining the franchise’s signature features that players know from previous entries.
