Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Launch Reportedly Scrubbed for 2026
Forza Horizon 6’s previously announced PlayStation 5 port has reportedly been delayed beyond its 2026 launch window, according to reporting by The Verge’s Tom Warren and confirmed by IGN. Xbox has not formally announced the change as of yet.
The delay comes amid a significant strategic shift at Xbox. New Xbox Game Division CEO Asha Sharma, who took over in February, announced a major “reset” to address the company’s recent financial struggles. This restructuring culminated in July with the announcement of 3,200 employee layoffs. Alongside these changes, Xbox has noticeably pulled back from its multiplatform expansion efforts, with logos for PS5 and Switch 2 reportedly absent from recent promotional materials.
Forza Horizon 6’s PS5 port had been announced shortly after the game’s well-received launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The decision to bring the racer to PlayStation represented part of Xbox’s earlier strategy to expand its audience beyond its native console ecosystem. The delay suggests this approach is being reconsidered under current leadership as the company refocuses its priorities.
The exact new timeframe for the PS5 version remains unclear, and Xbox has not provided official comment on the postponement.
