Google launches Pokémon Sleep special-edition Fitbit Air
Google has launched a special-edition Pokémon Sleep-themed Fitbit Air, designed to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. The wearable features a “Sleepy Blue” band adorned with an illustration of a snoozing Pikachu, with the color scheme closely matching the classic blue and gold palette of Pokémon trading cards.
The special-edition Fitbit Air is priced at $129 and is currently available for preorder, with shipments beginning September 15. The device functions as a comprehensive fitness tracker, monitoring sleep, steps, and workout activity. The launch coincides with Pokémon’s broader 30th anniversary celebrations, which include a special-edition Pokémon Trading Card Game collection launching the same week.
This collaboration merges gaming with wearable technology, pairing the Fitbit Air with Pokémon Sleep—a mobile game specifically designed around sleep-tracking mechanics. The integration creates a complementary ecosystem where players can monitor their sleep while engaging with the game, appealing to both Pokémon fans and fitness-conscious consumers.
The release reflects the growing convergence between entertainment properties and consumer electronics, particularly in the wearables market where health tracking and gaming increasingly intersect.
