Konami is aiming for a new Silent Hill game every year with producer Motoi Okamoto trying to quell fears by promising fans that they ‘will be able to provide positive kinds of surprises’
Konami has announced its intention to establish an annual release schedule for new Silent Hill games, significantly accelerating franchise output. At Gamescom 2026, franchise producer Motoi Okamoto revealed the strategy, stating that the company aims to “have an annual release of new games” with multiple unannounced projects currently in development.
Okamoto emphasized that these upcoming titles will “provide positive kinds of surprises” for players, appearing to address potential concerns about the frequency of releases. This marks a notable acceleration following a decade-long gap in mainline Silent Hill games, during which the franchise largely remained dormant.
Recent years have already seen expanded Silent Hill content, with two new games, a remake, the multiplayer title Ascension, and a theatrical film released over the past three years. With Silent Hill: Townfall set to release in the coming month, Konami’s annual release schedule represents a continuation of its strategy to maintain active franchise presence and consistent player engagement.
