“I’m desperately looking for anybody who knows anybody at Valve”: open world satire Future? No Thanks! is still locked in Steam horny jail

Molleindustria’s open world satire “Future? No Thanks!” remains subject to content restrictions on Steam despite the developer’s efforts to comply with platform policies. The game, which features mild nudity and has had explicit sexual content removed by its creator, has been rendered largely invisible to many Steam users due to Valve’s content moderation decisions regarding adult material.

The situation highlights a striking inconsistency in Steam’s content policies. The massively anticipated GTA 6—which prominently features full frontal nudity, pole dancers, and other sexualized imagery—faces no such restrictions and enjoys unrestricted visibility on the platform, while “Future? No Thanks!” remains effectively restricted from view.

“Future? No Thanks!” is an ecosocialist comedy about an elderly, grumpy protagonist who is applying for state-supplied euthanasia while attempting to complete a bucket list. The game received positive reception during its demo phase. In an effort to secure wider Steam distribution and demonstrate compliance with content policies, the developer proactively deleted associated “sex quest” content.

Despite these efforts, the game remains restricted from view for many users. The creator has expressed frustration about the situation, stating they are “desperately looking for anybody who knows anybody at Valve” in hopes of resolving the visibility restrictions through direct communication with platform decision-makers.
