Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu Will Be Exclusive to Disney+
The Pokémon Company and Disney have announced a new stop-motion animated series, “Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu,” debuting on Disney+ and Disney XD in 2027. The announcement was made Friday at PokémonXP, the first fan convention exclusively dedicated to Pokémon, in San Francisco.
Produced by Aardman Animations—the acclaimed studio behind Wallace & Gromit—the series will follow Sirfetch’d and Pichu as they get into comedic hijinks and misadventures throughout the Galar region. The stop-motion animation style combines Aardman’s signature humor with Pokémon’s beloved characters, targeting both longtime fans and new audiences with family-friendly entertainment.
The series announcement is part of a broader partnership between Disney and The Pokémon Company to expand Pokémon content on Disney’s streaming platform. Originally announced in July 2025, the 2027 release date gives audiences time to anticipate the show’s arrival. A new trailer was released during the PokémonXP event, providing the first look at the series’ visual style and tone.
