EXCLUSIVE: WARDOGS Could Get Extraction and PvE Modes One Day – And Prototypes Exist Now

WARDOGS is a new first-person shooter developed by BULKHEAD that has attracted significant attention in the gaming community. Following a recent closed beta phase, the game will enter early access on September 10. In an exclusive interview at Gamescom, BULKHEAD’s CFO Mark Pinney and Joe Brammer discussed the team’s long-term vision for the title, which extends beyond the current feature set.

According to the developers, BULKHEAD is exploring additional game modes designed to attract new audiences. The team is considering adding Player versus Environment (PvE) and extraction-based gameplay modes to complement the existing competitive experience. Internal prototypes of these modes have already been developed. These additions could appeal to players seeking cooperative or extraction-focused experiences, potentially broadening the game’s reach beyond traditional competitive FPS audiences.

The development roadmap emphasizes progression toward version 1.0 following the early access launch, indicating a structured development plan. WARDOGS represents a fresh approach to large-scale shooter gameplay and appears positioned to attract players seeking alternatives in the competitive FPS market.
