CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a new expansion for its critically acclaimed fantasy action-RPG. The expansion centers on Dandelion, a beloved character from the series, and marks CD Projekt Red’s return to the franchise after more than a decade since the original game’s release.
According to the developer, the expansion takes protagonist Geralt on what the studio describes as “one last ride before passing the torch.” This phrasing suggests the expansion may represent the final major narrative chapter in the game’s story, potentially concluding Geralt’s journey within the world.
GameSpot was able to attend a hands-off presentation where details about the Dandelion-centered storyline were shared and discussed. The announcement continues CD Projekt Red’s commitment to delivering substantial post-launch content for The Witcher 3, which has remained one of the developer’s most popular and enduring franchises since its 2015 launch.
