Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (August 2026)
Nintendo Life has revealed its monthly eShop Selects feature, highlighting the best digital-only games available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 for August 2026. The publication reviewed eight games that met their 7/10 quality threshold during the month, selecting titles exclusively from the eShop that do not have physical releases or Game-Key Card versions.
Among the notable picks this month are the debut releases of previously unreleased Virtual Boy games now available through Nintendo Switch Online, representing an unconventional but significant addition to the eShop catalog. These retro releases showcase Nintendo’s continued effort to preserve and make its classic library accessible to modern audiences through subscription services.
The monthly eShop Selects feature serves as a curated guide for Switch players seeking quality digital titles that might otherwise be overlooked amid the crowded digital storefront. By establishing a consistent quality threshold, Nintendo Life provides consumers with reliable recommendations for indie and smaller publisher releases competing alongside major commercial titles on the platform.
