Phasmophobia’s second Quality of Life update adds Restricted maps, VR fixes, and much creepier deaths
Kinetic Games has released the second Quality of Life update for Phasmophobia, its cooperative ghost-hunting game, introducing new Restricted maps, virtual reality improvements, and expanded death mechanics. The update is currently available on PC and PlayStation, with an Xbox release planned for a future date.
The Quality of Life Part 2 update builds upon the previous Quality of Life Part 1, released in July, which featured the revamped 13 Willow Street map and other gameplay improvements. The new update introduces condensed versions of three popular maps—Prison, Brownstone High School, and Point Hope—designated as Restricted maps. These smaller, more focused versions are designed to streamline investigations and add variety to player runs.
Beyond the new map variants, the update includes fixes and improvements for virtual reality players, addressing technical issues and enhancing the VR experience. The development team has also implemented significantly more ways for players to encounter deaths during investigations, adding to the game’s horror atmosphere. These updates reflect Kinetic Games’ ongoing commitment to refining the player experience and maintaining engagement in their live-service title.
