“Trust Us–We’re Remedy:” Control Resonant Will Have Plenty Of Lore, The Devs Just Can’t Reveal Any Of It

Remedy has assured Control fans that Control Resonant will contain substantial narrative content and lore, despite promotional trailers focusing primarily on combat mechanics. Senior communications manager Miika Huttunen stated the story-light marketing approach is a deliberate strategic decision rather than a reflection of the game’s actual content. The developer is intentionally keeping narrative elements and story details under lockdown until release to preserve surprises for players.

Huttunen confirmed the game will feature “plenty of twists and turns and surprises” along with “lots of weird stuff to come.” The emphasis on combat in promotional footage does not require gradual revelation, unlike narrative elements, making it an ideal focus for trailers. By keeping the story locked down during the marketing phase, Remedy aims to ensure players can experience the game’s mysteries firsthand upon release. The studio is asking fans to trust their vision and the depth of the narrative despite the combat-focused promotional material shown so far.
