Marvel Snap’s Hit New Draft Mode Will Return In September With Changes

Marvel Snap is bringing back its popular new Draft Mode on September 28 as a limited-time game mode (LTGM). The card game’s first Draft Mode edition, which debuted in August, has proven popular among players and will be followed by another iteration with updated rules.

The returning Draft Mode will feature a significant change to its scoring system. Rather than using traditional scoring, the second edition will adopt Sanctum scoring mechanics borrowed from the game’s Sanctum Showdown mode. In this scoring system, players earn points by winning alternating locations each turn, with the first player to reach 16 points claiming victory.

This scoring adjustment is expected to shift the metagame considerably. The emphasis on alternating location wins and reaching a specific point total likely favors Control and Move-focused decks, which specialize in location management and card repositioning. This represents a different strategic landscape compared to typical Marvel Snap gameplay.

Developer Second Dinner has positioned Draft Mode as a key addition to Marvel Snap’s live-service offerings, providing limited-time competitive experiences that keep the game fresh and engaging for its playerbase. The announced return date gives players interested in the mode a clear target to prepare new deck strategies for the Sanctum scoring variant.
