Sick: Ace Combat 8 has online airbase lobbies where you can bum around as your own bespoke pilotsona

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will launch in October with what Bandai Namco is positioning as the most robust multiplayer offering the series has ever seen. The game features “Ace Combat Online,” a comprehensive multiplayer suite highlighted by online airbase lobbies where players can create and customize their own pilot characters. Beyond the fighter jet combat that defines the series, these social spaces give players a place to congregate and interact in their custom “pilotsona” designs.

Bandai Namco released an “Online 101” overview video to introduce the multiplayer offerings to potential players. The multiplayer suite represents a significant expansion compared to previous entries in the franchise, which have included online modes but nothing as elaborate as what Wings of Theve delivers.

The game continues Ace Combat’s signature blend of high-g fighter jet dogfighting and anime-inspired melodrama. With its emphasis on both competitive multiplayer and social online features, Ace Combat 8 is being positioned as a major multiplayer-focused release rather than solely a campaign-driven experience.
