Xbox Game Pass Removes Cyberpunk 2077 And 9 Other Games Very Soon
Xbox Game Pass is removing 10 games from its library on September 15, with CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 headlining the departures. The sci-fi RPG will have spent only six months on the service after its March 2026 addition, suggesting it may have been part of a limited-term licensing agreement.
Other notable titles leaving include Dead Cells, Frostpunk 2, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Spiritfarer, and Train Sim World 5, along with Commandos: Origins and Cricket 24. Players who wish to continue playing these games after removal can purchase them at discounted rates before the September 15 cutoff.
The timing is noteworthy given that CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was removed from Game Pass in August, potentially to promote its upcoming remaster launching September 29. For Cyberpunk 2077, the timing aligns with major franchise developments: the sequel remains in early development, but the acclaimed Edgerunners anime’s second season debuts on Netflix October 20, which will likely drive renewed interest in the base game.
To offset these losses, Xbox Game Pass is adding several new titles in September, including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, and RuneScape: Dragonwild.
