Godzilla Dev Wants to Do More Remasters, But ‘a Lot of Conversations’ Need to Happen First

Pipeworks Software has confirmed that Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is coming in November, bringing the 2002 fighting game back to modern platforms. During an interview with IGN, the developer indicated that while this remaster is officially locked in, the studio is exploring possibilities for reviving other entries in the Godzilla game series, including Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed.

However, the path forward for additional remasters remains uncertain. Pipeworks emphasized that “a lot of stuff is on the table” but stressed that “a lot of conversations” need to take place before any new projects can be greenlit. The developer’s cautious optimism suggests ongoing licensing negotiations and internal discussions are required before the company can commit to further Godzilla game remasters.

The Destroy All Monsters Melee remaster represents the studio’s first step in revisiting the classic Godzilla fighting game franchise. The original 2002 title remains a fan favorite among series enthusiasts, and its return represents a broader trend of game preservation and revival efforts across the industry.
