New Metaphor: ReFantazio Trailer Showcases More Switch 2 Footage
Atlus has released a new pre-order trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio showcasing the 2024 fantasy RPG running on Nintendo Switch 2. The footage provides a detailed look at the game’s performance following its appearance on the Switch 2 show floor at Gamescom.
According to the trailer, Metaphor: ReFantazio maintains solid performance on Switch 2, though some visual compromises are apparent. Static 3D assets display a noticeable smeariness that may prove distracting for some players—a typical trade-off when porting visually demanding titles to less powerful hardware. However, the game’s distinctive outlined art style effectively masks many technical limitations, proving forgiving of the performance requirements.
The trailer offers prospective players a realistic preview of what to expect from the Switch 2 version, helping inform purchasing decisions before the game’s release on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
