Rockstar Games unveils its official GTA Online RP server, mere months before GTA 6
Rockstar Games has officially announced nopixel V, an official Grand Theft Auto Online roleplaying server developed in collaboration with Nopixel Studios. The announcement represents Rockstar’s full commitment to the modding-driven roleplay community, following the studio’s 2022 acquisition of FiveM, the platform that powered the wildly popular independent nopixel server.
The closed beta for nopixel V launches September 8, 2026, initially available as an invite-only experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher, primarily for streamers. The server features significant enhancements including a redesigned character customization system, improved visuals, more intelligent NPCs, and 1,000 purchasable properties. Players can pursue diverse playstyles—from criminal enterprises to legitimate professions—with new locations including a grand hotel-casino and multiple expanded areas.
The timing is notable, arriving just months before Grand Theft Auto 6’s launch. While GTA 6 has received extensive marketing coverage, Rockstar has remained silent on the upcoming game’s multiplayer plans, prompting speculation about whether nopixel V represents the studio’s primary focus for roleplay experiences. The announcement underscores how Rockstar is continuing to nurture GTA 5’s thriving live-service ecosystem and recognizing the sustained popularity and commercial value of community-driven roleplay gameplay within the franchise.
