The Witcher 4, Cyberpunk 2077 Developer CD Projekt Red Ramps Up Hiring on ‘Project Hadar’

CD Projekt Red is expanding its workforce for an unannounced project codenamed “Project Hadar,” according to the company’s latest investor relations earnings call. The team currently comprises over 30 developers, with plans to expand to approximately 50 by the end of 2026.

According to Karolina Gnaś, vice president of investor relations, Project Hadar remains in the early concept phase, with the team primarily focused on prototyping gameplay elements and testing different creative approaches. No release timeline has been provided, and details about the project’s scope and genre remain undisclosed.

This expansion is part of a broader period of activity for CD Projekt Red, which is simultaneously developing The Witcher 4, Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, a new Witcher 3 expansion with remaster, and a remake of the original Witcher game. The studio also has another mystery project in development called “Sirius,” which similarly remains in early stages with no near-term release expected.

The hiring push suggests CD Projekt Red is building organizational capacity for significant upcoming projects beyond its currently announced slate, though the company has indicated both mystery projects will remain in development for an extended period before public reveals.
