No Rest for the Wicked delayed to 2027, promises new beta and founders packs for early buyers to tide people over
Moon Studios, developer of the acclaimed Ori series, has announced a delay for its action RPG No Rest for the Wicked. The game, originally scheduled to launch in full 1.0 version in October 2026, will now release in March 2027.
The announcement came via official social media, with Moon Studios emphasizing their commitment to quality over speed. The studio stated: “The honest truth is that we’re a small team, and we’re holding our games to a standard we won’t compromise on. We’re close, but close isn’t good enough for our full 1.0 launch.”
No Rest for the Wicked entered early access in April 2024 and has already achieved significant commercial success, selling 2 million copies by July 2026. The five-month delay will allow the team to focus on performance improvements and other refinements ahead of the full launch.
Moon Studios is offering new beta access and founders packs to early buyers as compensation for the delay, providing existing supporters with additional value while they await the final release.
The decision reflects a broader trend of studios prioritizing quality and stability over arbitrary release deadlines. The extra time should help ensure No Rest for the Wicked meets the quality standards players expect from the developer behind the acclaimed Ori franchise.
