Tomb Raider: Catalyst Continues Survivor Lara Croft’s Story
Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Tomb Raider: Catalyst will continue featuring the Survivor-era version of Lara Croft, maintaining consistency with the studio’s recent reboot trilogy. Game director Raul Siqueira announced during Gamescom that Catalyst will share the same iteration of the character as Legacy of Atlantis, the forthcoming remake of the original Tomb Raider, establishing a collaborative approach between the two projects.
The confirmation indicates that the Survivor Lara Croft will remain the primary playable version across Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming titles. This alignment represents the studio’s commitment to building a unified universe across its forthcoming Tomb Raider entries. The Survivor era, which reimagined the iconic adventurer as a more grounded, character-driven protagonist compared to earlier iterations, has become the established vision for the franchise’s future.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst, previously delayed, is now scheduled for 2028. The announcement comes as developers seek to maintain narrative and thematic continuity between multiple projects in one of gaming’s most enduring franchises.
