Crimson Desert’s first DLC is called Charting the Unknown, and it’s out next month

Pearl Abyss has announced Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown, the game’s first major expansion, set to release on October 15, 2026. The DLC will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S for $25.

The expansion introduces a new region and story missions that continue after the main game’s narrative, featuring characters Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they explore deeper into the continent of Pywel. The DLC significantly expands the game’s scope by adding several major gameplay systems, including underwater exploration and combat with submarines, jetpacks, and shark riding. Players will also gain the ability to captain ships for naval exploration and combat.

One of the standout features is an enhanced building system inspired by life simulation games, allowing players to construct and fully customize their own castle with interior design tools. Players can design rooms, place furniture, and personalize their living space to reflect individual preferences. The expansion emphasizes home building and life simulation elements alongside its adventure content.

Players who pre-order will receive exclusive in-game cosmetics: the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane. The announcement was made during PlayStation State of Play.
