Supergirl Is Coming to HBO Max Next Week
DC Studios’ Supergirl will begin streaming on HBO Max on September 10, 2026, with an American Sign Language version available simultaneously. The film will premiere on HBO linear television on September 11 at 8 p.m. ET.
Supergirl is the second major release in James Gunn’s DC Universe cinematic slate, following last year’s Superman. The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El and is adapted from acclaimed source material. However, the movie underperformed at the box office compared to its predecessor, earning $126 million globally against Superman’s $600+ million worldwide gross.
The film follows Supergirl as she hunts for the villain Krem of the Yellow Hill after he poisons Krypto, the superhero’s dog. During this mission, she meets a young girl named Ruthey who enlists her help in the pursuit.
