Waffle House Movie in the Works Starring X-Men’s Inde Navarrette
Actor Inde Navarrette is set to star in “The Waffle House Index,” a science fiction thriller acquired by Apple Original Films. The film follows a Waffle House waitress navigating a chaotic overnight shift with science fiction elements. The screenplay was written by Andrew Nunnelly.
The project marks another opportunity for Navarrette to diversify her portfolio beyond major studio productions. Her casting comes shortly after she joined Marvel’s upcoming X-Men reboot, where she will play Rogue alongside Adam Driver as Mister Sinister and Maya Boyd as Storm.
“The Waffle House Index” exemplifies an emerging trend of unconventional genre-blending stories finding homes at streaming platforms, combining thriller and sci-fi elements within an everyday American diner setting. With Apple Original Films producing and distributing through its streaming platform, the film represents part of the tech company’s growing investment in original entertainment content.
