Ananta Will Be Supported For At Least 7 Years
NetEase and developer Naked Rain have announced plans to support their upcoming free-to-play game Ananta for at least seven years following its launch next year. The open-world adventure is being built around a live-service model alongside a narrative campaign, indicating a long-term content roadmap that could extend new updates into 2034 and beyond.
The game was showcased at Gamescom, where journalists were able to preview two story missions and explore portions of the expansive open world. Based on developer statements during the event, the seven-year support window represents the minimum commitment to the title, suggesting NetEase and Naked Rain view Ananta as a significant franchise investment requiring sustained post-launch development and content updates.
The extended support timeline reflects industry trends toward live-service games designed for ongoing engagement, though such multi-year commitments don’t always materialize as planned. Ananta’s free-to-play model combined with its open-world design and live-service structure positions it as a competitor in a crowded market segment that includes titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, both also backed by NetEase.
