Insomniac’s Venom Game Still in Development, It’s Claimed
Insomniac Games continues development on an unannounced Marvel’s Venom video game for PlayStation 5, according to industry insider NateTheHate2. The project represents a dedicated spin-off from Insomniac’s Spider-Man universe, where the Symbiote character debuted in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
In Insomniac’s interpretation, Venom differs from traditional comic book portrayals. Rather than the malevolent alien symbiote typically bonded to Eddie Brock, the game presents the Symbiote as a cure for a medical condition affecting Harry Osborn, who becomes Venom in this version. Tony Todd originally voiced the character in Spider-Man 2.
Development status had become uncertain following Tony Todd’s passing, with speculation suggesting the project had been canceled. However, NateTheHate2—a respected industry insider with a proven track record of accurate project leaks—has now confirmed that Insomniac is actively working on the title, contradicting earlier cancellation rumors.
The report adds to ongoing industry interest in Insomniac’s Spider-Man franchise expansion, though no official announcement regarding the Venom project has been made by Sony or Insomniac. Details regarding gameplay, release timeline, and narrative direction remain undisclosed.
