Persona 4 Revival Finds Its Kanji, And It Isn’t Troy Baker Or Matt Mercer
At PAX West, Atlus revealed that Daman Mills will voice Kanji Tatsumi in the upcoming Persona 4 Revival remake, replacing previous voice actors Troy Baker and Matt Mercer. Mills brings extensive experience to the role, widely recognized for currently voicing Frieza in the Dragon Ball franchise and contributing to major game titles including Borderlands 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Yakuza Kiwami 3.
Mills has an established history with Atlus, having previously collaborated on multiple studio projects. He voiced Aogami in Shin Megami Tensei 5, Madam Ginko in Soul Hackers 2, and Takaya Sakaki in Persona 3. This recurring working relationship suggests Atlus’s strategy of leveraging existing partnerships while bringing fresh interpretations to classic characters for the revival.
The announcement marks one of the first major voice casting reveals for Persona 4 Revival, signaling progress on the remake’s production. The casting decision reflects Atlus’s approach to balancing familiarity and renewal, selecting an experienced voice actor already integrated into the studio’s ecosystem rather than returning to previous interpreters of the character.
