Final Fantasy Resonance modders have already reinstated the original mobile game’s biggest icon, Ariana Grande
Final Fantasy Resonance, an upcoming HD-2D reconstruction of the shuttered mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, will launch next month. The game represents a significant reimagining of FFBE, which ran as a free-to-play turn-based mobile title from 2015 until its shutdown in 2025.
A notable feature of Resonance is its “Visions” system, allowing players to summon characters from across Final Fantasy history to aid them in battle. However, one major icon from the original game—pop star Ariana Grande—will not be returning in the new version.
Modders have already moved to address this absence. Using Final Fantasy Resonance’s demo, the modding community has successfully reinstated Ariana Grande, one of the original mobile game’s most prominent characters. The pop star had been a significant presence in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and her absence from Resonance sparked enough fan demand to prompt swift community action.
This quick modding response highlights the passionate fandom surrounding both the Final Fantasy franchise and the original game, while also demonstrating how community-driven preservation efforts are keeping aspects of discontinued games alive in their successors.
