Dreamworks Unveils Its Dreamiest Animated Character Since Shrek
DreamWorks Animation is preparing to release Forgotten Island, an animated film set to arrive on September 25. The Universal-owned studio has unveiled exclusive imagery featuring the film’s protagonists Jo (voiced by HER) and Raissa (voiced by Liza Soberano), alongside a key character named Mermahn, the Prince of the Kataw people. Mermahn is designed as a distinctive blue character featuring a fishnet shirt and starfish accessories, with the character’s name serving as a clever play on his half-fish appearance.
The film is being co-directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado. DreamWorks is positioning Forgotten Island as a significant animated offering arriving while audiences await the next installment of Kpop Demon Hunters, a Netflix and Sony project not expected for several more years. The release marks another major animated feature from the studio.
