Forza Horizon 6’s PS5 Version Still on Track for 2026 Release, Playground Says

Playground Games has officially confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 later in 2026, putting to rest recent speculation about potential delays. The announcement came as part of a developer blog post celebrating a new British automotive-themed update featuring the new Drift Attack feature.

The PS5 release was announced as planned when the game debuted in 2025, though it was initially exclusive to Xbox consoles and PCs at launch. While some players were uncertain whether the PlayStation version would arrive in 2026 or be pushed to 2027, the developer’s statement confirms it will reach Sony’s platform this year.

“If you’re planning your trip to Discover Japan on PlayStation 5, stay tuned! Forza Horizon 6 will be releasing on PS5 later this year, and you can add the game to your Wishlist on the PlayStation Store to be notified of availability,” Playground Games stated in the update.

The reaffirmation comes after rumors circulated suggesting the PS5 version might face delays. Despite the lack of a specific release date within the remaining months of 2026, the developer’s commitment to a 2026 window indicates the port remains on schedule. Players interested in the PS5 version can now add the game to their PlayStation Store wishlist to receive notifications when availability is announced.
