Lego Digital Play snaps up Chrome Valley Customs maker Offroad Games
Lego Digital Play, the London-based gaming subsidiary of toy giant Lego, has acquired Offroad Games, the developer behind mobile game Chrome Valley Customs. This marks the first major public move since Lego Digital Play’s formation in early 2025, when parent company Lego established the new mobile gaming-focused division.
Offroad Games will continue operating under its existing label, with all staff transitioning to positions at Lego Digital Play. The studio previously spun out from Space Ape as an independent operation.
Lego Digital Play is led by president Aaron Loeb, a 30-year gaming industry veteran who previously held leadership roles at Scopely, FoxNext Games, and EA. The acquisition terms were not disclosed. The move signals Lego’s strategic expansion into mobile gaming and reflects the toy company’s broader ambitions to establish itself as a gaming publisher alongside its traditional business.
