Space Marine 3 Dev Tries to Put Generative AI Fears to Rest After Public Outcry

Saber Interactive faced significant controversy last month when a former employee publicly revealed that the studio’s game Rideshare Stimulator uses generative AI. The disclosure sparked a heated public dispute, with the studio’s CEO vigorously defending the company’s decision in a widely-criticized response.

Following the outcry, Saber’s Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits has stepped forward to clarify the company’s AI usage policy. Willits stated there is “absolutely no” generative AI integrated into Saber’s licensed game titles, specifically naming Space Marine 3, Hellraiser, and Jurassic Park Survival as games that do not employ the technology.

According to Willits, the generative AI currently in use is limited to Rideshare Stimulator, where it functions as an experiment to “see if it works.” This distinction suggests the studio is testing the technology in a smaller project rather than implementing it across its portfolio of major licensed properties. The clarification appears designed to reassure both players and licensors—particularly those behind major franchises like Space Marine, Hellraiser, and Jurassic Park—that their games remain unaffected by AI-generated content.
