Windows 11 is finally getting a battery status widget that will show an overview of all your connected devices on the lock screen or Widgets Board

Microsoft is developing a new battery status widget for Windows 11 that will display the battery level of a device and its connected wireless peripherals. The feature was discovered in recent Windows 11 preview builds shared on Discord, though it is not yet functional. Users will be able to place the widget on the Windows 11 lock screen or access it through the Widgets Board for easy monitoring.

The widget addresses a practical user need by consolidating battery information for multiple connected devices in one accessible location. This allows users to monitor battery health across wireless accessories such as mice, keyboards, and headphones at a glance, helping prevent disruptions from unexpectedly depleted peripheral batteries. The addition represents Microsoft’s continued investment in expanding Windows 11’s widget ecosystem and enhancing overall user experience.
