You don’t have to wait for Microsoft to get a battery widget on Windows 11
Microsoft is developing a Battery Status widget for Windows 11 that will allow users to monitor battery levels of their PC and connected peripherals. The widget, currently in development, can be pinned to either the Widget Board or the system’s lock screen, providing convenient access to battery information for keyboards, mice, and other accessories.
Users seeking this functionality don’t need to wait for Microsoft’s official release. The third-party application Battery Flyout already offers equivalent functionality with its Battery Status widget, displaying battery information across all connected devices. This provides Windows 11 users with immediate access to the feature.
The addition represents an effort to boost engagement with Windows 11’s Widget Board, which has seen limited adoption since its 2021 launch. By introducing practical, frequently-needed functionality, Microsoft aims to increase the utility and usage of the widget platform.
