Battlefield 6 Redsec is borrowing yet another mode from Call of Duty: Warzone - Resurgence

Battlefield Studios is expanding Battlefield REDSEC with major updates in Season 5, including a new limited-time mode called Rapid Royale that directly mirrors Call of Duty: Warzone’s popular Resurgence mode.

Rapid Royale is designed around accelerated gameplay featuring reduced player counts on smaller, dedicated maps compared to the main battle royale experience. The mode emphasizes frequent player encounters with reduced downtime, as players spend less time searching the open map for skirmishes. Like Resurgence, Rapid Royale offers multiple respawn opportunities, allowing fallen players to return quickly and maintaining a brisk pace throughout matches.

The update also introduces proximity chat functionality to REDSEC, launching September 15. This feature enables location-based voice communication, creating opportunities for unexpected player interactions and emergent gameplay moments driven by direct player encounters.

These additions represent Battlefield Studios’ continued effort to position REDSEC as a competitive alternative to Warzone. The battle royale, which launched as a free-to-play title following Battlefield 6’s release, has been intentionally modeled after Warzone’s structure and features. The new seasonal content aims to address core gameplay preferences within the battle royale community, focusing on engagement metrics that favor faster-paced competition and more dynamic player interactions.
