European game developers are more concerned that AI will pressure them to work faster rather than take their job
A new survey of European game developers reveals that concerns about artificial intelligence in the industry focus more on accelerated work pace than job displacement. According to the ‘Talent Signals Reshaping the Games Industry’ report derived from the 10th Big Games Industry Employment Survey, 61% of respondents expressed worry that generative AI will pressure them to complete work faster and produce more content. In contrast, only 35% believe AI poses a direct threat to their employment or could reduce demand for their role.
The findings reveal additional concerns about AI’s broader impact on work quality and professional evaluation. Half of the surveyed developers worried that AI could reduce the quality of their work, while 46% reported that AI makes it more difficult to assess actual skills—potentially complicating hiring and performance evaluation processes.
The survey was conducted by Tanja Loktionova, founder of Values Value and co-founder of InGame Job, providing insights into how the games industry workforce views the increasing integration of AI tools and generative technologies.
