Korea League of Legends Team to Face USA in Asia Games Prep

The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) has announced competitive preparations for League of Legends at the upcoming 2026 Asia Games. Korea’s national team will participate in two best-of-five friendlies against the USA and Vietnam on September 19-20 in Busan, serving as preparation for the official Asia Games competition scheduled for September 30-October 2.

The Korean roster features several established League Championship Korea (LCK) professionals, including mid-laner Faker, jungler Canyon, top-laner Zeus, ADC Gumayusi, support Keria, and substitute top-laner Zeca. However, the team selection has drawn criticism from Arnold Hur, owner of esports organization Gen.G, regarding KeSPA’s selection process.

The USA is approaching the Asia Games with a different strategy. Due to scheduling conflicts between the Asia Games and the League Championship Series (LCS) Playoffs and World Championship, most professional LCS players are unable to attend. Instead, USA Esports is piloting its National Team Development Program (NTDP), sending a younger roster to compete on the international stage.

These friendlies represent valuable preparation for both teams ahead of the Asia Games, one of the world’s premier esports showcases where League of Legends continues to be a featured title.
