Tom Hiddleston’s Return to Streaming Has Officially Been Confirmed
Tom Hiddleston has been cast in Tenzing, an upcoming biographical film for Apple TV. The actor will portray Sir Edmund Hillary in the film, which chronicles the historic 1953 Mount Everest expedition when Hillary and Nepalese Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first men to reach the mountain’s summit.
This marks Hiddleston’s latest streaming project following his prominent roles in Marvel’s Loki series on Disney Plus and the second season of The Night Manager on the BBC. The announcement adds to his extensive portfolio of both film and television work, including his longstanding presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his 2011 debut in Thor.
Tenzing joins a growing slate of biographical projects exploring significant historical mountaineering achievements. The film will bring the remarkable story of the expedition to audiences through the perspective of Hillary, the New Zealand mountaineer, while highlighting Norgay’s crucial role in their shared accomplishment.
